Just when you thought ZodTTD couldn't cram any more l33t emulators onto a mobile device, the much celebrated homebrew developer has come up with the first ever unofficial Sony PlayStation 1 emulator for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch.
This beta release of psx4iphone v0.0.1 still has a lot of work that needs to be done, but its a very impressive start for placing the iPhone and iTouch in the forefront of the retro gaming handheld platform.
This nifty emulator is definitely a step up from ZodTTD's previous applications, such as gpSPhone, a GameBoy Advance emulator for the iPhone and iTouch. While it still has a couple of issues which make it far from perfect, the emulation of PSone games itself seems pretty solid.
In the video we have below, you can take a look as ZodTTD tests psx4iphone on the iPhone with Capcom's Megaman X4. You may notice the game's performance running a little slow, but the developer assures everyone that the future versions should work on increasing its speed.
